Summer Holiday
On behalf of all the staff at Kelso High School we would like to wish our young people and families a lovely summer holiday. We look forward to welcoming all our young people back to school on Wednesday 16th August.
Staffing Update
Today marks the end of our term and a number of staff are leaving KHS onto pastures new. We would like to pass on our best wishes to the following staff:

iPad Refresh
Last week we had our iPad refresh day for Staff and S5/6. It’s been 4 YEARS since the first rollout. That is, 4 years of transformational digital learning, 4 years of imbedded digital pedagogy and 4 years of KHS leading the way! Thanks @inspireSBC for getting this done! #pridekhs

Inter-house Potted Sports
After a day of hotly contested Potted Sports, the following results were collated and announced:
3rd – Kale 1362 points
2nd Teviot 1385 points
1st – Bowmont 1415 points
Well done to all those who took part and a special thank you to our PE staff.
Bee Club
Two years ago, our Bee Club received an award from The Royal Society of Science to carry out scientific research about honey bees. Now that the research has been completed our young people created an academic poster to show their findings. Well done to all involved and a huge thank you to Mr Baxter for supporting our young people on this incredible journey.


S6 Induction
Our new S6 headed off to Foxlake, Dunbar this week as part of their S6 induction, building skills and relationships with each other and staff for the year ahead. A great day was had by all.
Bus Pupils
Passenger Transport will be working with transport operators over the summer to finalise school bus timetables and they will issue a communication to parents to notify them when timetables are ready to view on the website.
Lottery Draw – June 2023
The numbers drawn were 9, 12 and 15.
Unfortunately there were no winners this month so the money will roll over onto next month.
The prize fund of approximately £380 will be drawn at the end of July.

Golf Junior Open Days – July 2023
In partnership with Kelso Golf Club and the Stephen Gallacher Foundation, Active Schools are delighted to bring your child an opportunity to attend two open golfing sessions during the summer holidays!
These sessions are completely FREE of charge, with the aim of introducing youngsters to golf through the Stephen Gallacher Foundation. Sessions will be led by Ian Ford and will be separated into 3 age groups ranging from 6-17 years.
Regardless whether your child has previous golfing experience or has never held a club we encourage all boys and girls to come along and give it a go this summer! All equipment can be provided, and parents are more than welcome to stay for the duration of the session.

DAYS: Wednesday 12th & 26th July
TIME: 3pm-5.15pm
VENUE: Kelso Golf Club
COST: FREE OF CHARGE!
AGE: 6-17 years
Session breakdown;
6-8 years – 3pm-3.45pm
9-11 years – 3.45pm-4.30pm
12-17 years – 4.30pm-5.15pm
