S6 Head Team
At the end of last term we were elected by young people and staff into the roles of S6 Head Team 2022/23. We would like to formally introduce ourselves – Emma Stewart, Zara Currie, Dougal Coates and Dylan Mackenzie. We very much look forward to implementing a new post-covid culture, making incremental changes and coordinating events alongside staff to ensure the school continues improving #pridekhs
Young People within S1
Congratulations and well done to all our S1s who have settled well into High School. They are extremely polite and have been able to navigate through their first full week of S1.
Assemblies
I had the pleasure of meeting all our S1, S2, S3 and S4 students this week at our whole year group assemblies. This was an opportunity to officially welcome everyone back to school and ensure we are all aware of the expectations on school uniform, use of mobile phones and chewing gum.
Flu Vaccine Forms
These will be issued to pupils next week. Please ensure the prompt return of these to the school office.
Annual Update Forms
Forms were issued to all pupils last week. These must be completed and returned to the school office as soon as possible to ensure emergency contact details are up to date.
School Photographs
The photographer will be in school on Monday 29th August. All year groups will be taken. School dress must be worn.
UCAS Exhibition – Springwood Park – Thursday 1st September
On the 1st September S6 students have been given the opportunity to attend the UCAS Exhibition at Springwood Park, Kelso.
Exhibitors from many universities & colleges will be in attendance to give information and answer any queries. More details of who will be attending can be found on the following website https://www.ucas.com/events/borders-ucas-exhibition-2022-403976 follow the links to the Borders UCAS Exhibition.
The event runs from 10-12 noon. Students should make their own way to Springwood Park for 10am where they will meet staff at the entrance to the hall, for some students it may make more sense to travel directly to Springwood rather than come to school for reg/P1. Once the event is over at 12 noon they should walk back to school and return to timetabled classes.
Wider Achievement
