Update from the S6 Head Team

This week, some of our seniors had the fantastic opportunity to take part in work experience at the Borders General Hospital. They assisted nurses and gained valuable insights throughout the week.

Last night, we held our Christmas Quiz, which was a resounding success! It was a joyous evening filled with fun and laughter, raising funds and bringing our community together.

As we approach the final weeks of the Christmas term, we’re excited for several upcoming events, including the S1/S6 Buddy Cinema Trip, Junior and Senior Christmas Socials, our festive Christmas lunch, and the much-anticipated annual “Decorate Your Classroom Door” competition. There’s plenty of festive cheer still to come!

Improving Attendance at School

Regular school attendance is crucial for your child’s academic success and overall development. We are committed to working together to ensure every student achieves their full potential by attending school consistently.

We are very aware that at this time of year there are more absences due to illness or events.  To make reporting an absence as simple and efficient as possible, you can notify the school using any of the following methods:

  • Email: kelsohs@scotborders.gov.uk with the subject ‘KHS Absence’.
  • Telephone: 01573 227440
  • Groupcall Xpressions App: Use the app to send the School Office a message directly

We kindly ask that you report any absence at your earliest convenience and provide a clear reason for your child’s non-attendance.

Thank you for your continued support in helping us improve attendance and ensure a positive learning environment for all students.

Christmas Quiz

A big thank you to our staff, parents, and wider community who joined us for the S6 Christmas Quiz last night. The S6 Culture Committee did a fantastic job organising and running the event. The funds raised will go towards supporting exciting Cultural events planned for next term – stay tuned!
