Home Economics now on ParentPay!
Due to the popularity of ParentPay we have now given parents the option to pay for S1, S2 and S3 Home Economics and S2 Baking Option lessons online. This can be paid as a one off payment or in partial payments over the year and removes the need for pupils to pay at each cooking lesson.
These payment items will show up on your ParentPay account now however this is for the new session starting on Monday 5th June 2017.

Kelso 15s/16s Football Report
Last week the team travelled to play Hawick 15s on their 3G pitch in what was their penultimate League Cup game of the season and possibly their penultimate game together as a team because there may not be a Borders Youth League next year. More to follow when details announced by the elusive Scottish Borders Youth Football Association. The away side got off to a great start as a certain Owen Cranston breezed through the home defence to net a goal on his return to the team and he went on to double Kelso’s lead as a beautiful Jake Douglas free-kick bounced off the post and landed in front of Owen who simply doesn’t miss those. There were chances at both ends but then Sam Walker surely sealed the points as he cheekily chipped the Hawick ‘keeper with a controlled front post volley from a Jake Douglas corner shortly before half time. That would make the score Hawick 15s 0-3 Kelso at half-time.
It was Hawick who started better in the second half but Michael Ferguson obviously wasn’t happy with this as he picked the ball up just inside the Hawick half, beat four defenders and smashed the ball home. Kelso then seemed to switch off and Hawick capitalised as a half-cleared cross was volleyed low into the bottom corner to give the home support something to cheer. Kelso regained their four goal advantage when Lewis Finlay did what Lewis Finlay does – he rose majestically at the near post to head home from a corner. Some sloppy defending let the hosts score a scrappy goal to keep the pressure on and make the scoreline 5-2 to Kelso. Hawick had a few more chances before Mikey Kavannagh scored another stunning rabona goal after running through the Hawick defence to rub salt into the wounds. The visitors were not done there as Jake Douglas grabbed his goal which was similar to Mikey’s except he smashed the ball in to the net instead of busting out the skill moves. Final score Hawick 15s 2-7 Kelso.
Kelso’s next game is away to Lauder on Sunday 28th May. This decides third place in the League Cup which at the end of the day means very little but would be a nice way to end the season for the Kelso team after their sub-par performance in the League before Christmas. Report by Rhys Lawrence (S4)
South U14 Inter District Tournament
Congratulations to Emma Freeland Cook, Erin Lawrence, Hannah Patterson, Amy Ralston and Sophie Younger who were part of the South U14 Squad who were runners up at the Inter District Tournament last weekend. This is the first U14 South team to make it into the Inter District Final. The South team drew their first game against East 1-1, beat North 1-0 and then drew against West 1-1 to finish second in their pool. In the Semi Final the South team won their game against South West 1-0 to make history by being the first South team to make it into the Inter District Final. Despite a gutsy performance in the final the South team lost 1-0 against West. Well done to all the girls, you were an absolute credit to yourselves, your parents, KHS and Borders Hockey. It was amazing team hockey to watch and thoroughly deserved silver medals.
