Hockey is back with a bang with seven of our students selected for South squads heading to Glasgow at the end of September. Congratulations to Aimee Martin and Lucy Murray who have been chosen for South U18 squad and to Chloe Aitchison, Emma Freeland-Cook, Kira McDonnell, Anna Woodcock and Sophie Younger who will play for the South U16s in the Inter-District Tournament on 30th Sept/1st Oct in Glasgow. Good luck to all the players in both squads.
Our school returns this week with the opening matches of the season against Galashiels Academy (Friday afternoon), the S1s and S3s playing at Shedden Park and our S2s and Seniors teams heading over to Gala and Tweedbank respectively. All supporters are welcome to encourage our players with positive support.
The S1s parents' meeting was held on Wednesday but it's not too late to join. If there are any new S1s keen to give hockey a try - and we think you'll love it if you do! - there is still plenty time to sign up and join the fun. Training for S1s next week is on Monday (instead of the usual Tuesday) at Shedden Park from 4.10pm - 5.30pm.

Equestrian Team Results
Rory McFadyen (S1) and Katy McFadyen (S3) recently travelled with 3 ponies to the British Showjumping National Championships at Stoneleigh near Birmingham. They both had great results in massive classes (some over 100 entries). Katy and Mileage For Milo won the Your Horse Magazine 90cm Open. Rory & Curly Q were 8thin the 128cm Bronze League Final and 13th in the 128cm Stepping Stones Final. They then moved on to Weston Lawns near Coventry to take part in the National Inter Academy Team Championship on behalf of the Scottish Academy Team. Katy had an individual win with Seans Delight and 2ndwith Mileage For Milo. There were no prizes for their teams but a great experience for both and lots learned to be taken forward for the future. Attached below are some picturess from this week! Had some great results – Katy had 2 wins (including one at National Championships!) and Rory had a couple of near misses but had good placings. Well done to both.
