Football Update

Kelso U-13’s football team travelled to New Dundas Park, Bonnyrigg on Monday night to take on Loanhead in the final of the George Salmon Cup.  After taking the lead with an excellent strike from the edge of the box by Josh Coulter, they were pegged back as Loanhead made it 1-1 by half-time.  In the second half Kelso again took the lead with another good strike from the edge of the box by Adam Paterson.  Loanhead fought back to make it 2-2.  Kelso weren’t to be denied though and a sensational strike from outside the box from Adam Paterson made it 3-2 before Adam went on to complete his hat-trick and seal the win with a strong run and cool finish.

Kelso Team: Ben Stewart (Capt), Adam Paterson, Josh Coulter, Chad Patterson, Dylan McKenzie, Angus Utterson, Callum Philips, McKenzie Shaw, Aaron Ford, Sam Wood (S1), Ben Burton (P7 Edenside), Euan Graham (P7 Broomlands), Drew Muir, Liam Snowball, Conal McDonald, Fraser Moffat (BHS), Cairn Robson (EHS)

Equestrian Update

Scottish School's Equestrian Championships:

8 riders and 10 ponies made the journey up to Howe in Fife for the first NSEA qualifier of the year.  A mixed day with some very good results but also a few problems too, but what was lovely (as always) was the great team spirit and the support the riders gave each other when things went a wee bit wrong.  Well done to you all, as always incredibly proud of you all and what you do on behalf of Kelso High School!

Qualification places aren’t confirmed as yet – will hopefully hear this week.

Last weekend was also another very good weekend for Kelso High Equestrian Team!

Firstly a MASSIVE congratulations to Amy Ralston and Curravordy Builders Blue who qualified for the JC/JD Class at the Highland Show in June – well done!!

A mention also to Katy McFadyen & Hawkmoon Lady Luck who only had 1 pole down!

We also had a very good day at ISEC on Saturday at the first Jumping with Style qualifier for this year.  This is an interesting competition as you not only need to jump clear and accurately but you also get a style mark too!
