S3 Parent Engagement Evening

Thank you for the feedback on using our online booking system. If you were unable to make appointment with any member of staff, in particular Mr Dalziel then please contact the school.

S4/5 Pupils - Course Choice

It is vital that you fill in the back of your choice sheet before arriving to your choices meeting on Thursday 16thMarch.  We need to know what your intentions are regarding career paths & potential leaving dates.  There is a list of job sectors pinned up outside your Pastoral Teachers office, as well as one placed outside the main office.  Use these to help fill this in. Speak to Miss Roden in Room 66 if you need more information.

Please also note that there will be a new National 5 Literacy course available to S5/6 students next session.  This does not appear on the course subject choice form however Pastoral/SLT are aware.

Borders College Applications - IMPORTANT

All Borders College Schools Academies forms must be handed in to either the Office or your Pastoral Teacher by Monday 13th March to be checked before sending away.  S4/5 pupils - this is before your course choice interview so don’t wait.

Battlefields Trip 2017

The fifth payment for the above trip is now overdue, please arrange to pay via ParentPay or send payment to the School Office.  Cheques should be made payable to Kelso High School.

Please arrange to hand in your youngster’s passport and EHIC card to the School Office as soon as possible.  If these items are required for holidays at Easter we will take a photocopy of them.

Parents of S5 Pupils - S6 Uniform

S6 pupils are allowed to wear a jumper of a colour of their choice.  Voting for this choice of colour has now taken place.  Order forms were handed out to S5 pupils for their S6 Jumper. They have to be returned to the office, with the money, no later than Friday 17th March.

It is a requirement of the school rules that S6 pupils wear these jumpers.  As the jumpers are made to order it is not possible to change sizes later or order additional stock later.  Sample sizes will be available at the office for pupils to try on at breaktime and lunchtime.  Please ensure that your child tries on the samples and therefore orders the correct size and also ensure that they order the correct number.

Home Economics

We are quickly running out of tin foil containers so YOU MUST come prepared for lessons. If you are unsure of what to bring, ask your teacher prior to the lesson or bring a plastic container.  Thank you for your help in this matter.

Scottish Borders Youth Brass Band

Jamie Ball (S3) is performing with the Scottish Borders Youth Brass Band alongside the Whitburn Band at a special “Scottish Champions in Concert” performance to be held at Melrose Parish Church on 25th March.  This is to raise funds towards the SBYBB travelling and competing at the European Youth Band championships in Ostend in April.  A copy of the flyer and ticket application form are attached below.  All welcome.

KHS will be collecting Active Kids vouchers again this year, with the intention to use these for both cooking and sports equipment.  If you would like to donate any vouchers, please hand them in to either the HE or PE staff bases or the main Office.  Thank you for your support.
