S4 Parents’ Evening 12/12/17

S4 pupils have been issued with a letter this week about the Parents’ Evening on Tuesday 12th December.  Parents are now able to go online and book the teacher appointments.  A copy of the letter is attached below if required.

Xmas Jumper / Hat / Scarf Day 15/12/17

On Friday 15th December we are having a Xmas jumper day.  If you do not have a jumper you can wear a hat, scarf or anything else xmassy that you have.  If you do not have anything you can borrow something from Mrs Waldie in Pupil Support (2nd Floor) before Registration on Friday morning.  Please pay a £1 donation to your Register Teacher and all funds raised will go to Save the Children.  Please note this is not a non-uniform day, you must wear your school uniform underneath your jumper.

School Show 2017!

Kelso High School are excited to present Little Shop of Horrors as their first production in the new school.  The show will run on Wednesday 13th and Thursday 14th December with tickets available from the School Office and Browns Newsagents.  Tickets cost £5.00 for adults and £3.50 for concessions.  Doors open at 7.00pm with the show starting at 7.30pm. Looking forward to seeing you all in our new auditorium.  Flyer attached below.

Biking to/from School

A reminder now we are into the dark mornings and evenings that children stay safe when biking to and from school.  Please ensure bikes have front and back lights and pupils are wearing appropriate protective wear and can be seen by motorists.

Clubs & Study Sessions @ KHS

A timetable of clubs and study sessions that run at KHS has been added into the ‘School Bag’ to the right of this page.  We would be delighted to see pupils joining in with these clubs and sessions.  All welcome!!

Parent Council 50/50 Lottery - November 2017

This month, the numbers drawn were 2, 3 and 18.  Unfortunately there were no matches so the prize fund will roll over to next month.  Good Luck!!

Rotary Young Chef Competition

A big well done to all of our pupils who took part in the Rotary Young Chef Competition on Wednesday - Niamh Rose, Megan Horsburgh, Liam Wood, Niamh O'Brien and Paris Brogan.
After a tough competition the winner was Niamh O'Brien, 2nd was Paris Brogan and 3rd Liam Wood.  Niamh and Paris will compete in the next round on 10th January 2018! 
A big thank you to judges Colin Thomson of the Cross Keys and Rene Duzelier formerly owner and head chef of La Provencal.  Also thanks must go to Kelso Rotary Club and the KHS Home Economics Department.  Photos of the event below.

Pupils are reminded to respect both their school and their community and ensure that they use rubbish bins provided around school and the town to dispose of any litter.  If anyone has any suggestions on how we can promote this to stop littering please contact KHS at [email protected].

Scottish National Short Course Championships 2017, Royal Commonwealth Pool, Edinburgh, 8th - 10th December

The Scottish National Short Course Open Swimming Championships is widely recognised as the premier short course meet in the UK, attracting a wealth of swimming talent from across Europe.  Good Luck to Amy Richardson S5 and Erika Coupek S4 who have both qualified for several events each day.
