S5/6 Tracking Reports & Parents’ Evening 07/12/17

S5/6 pupils have been issued with their tracking report this week which also contains a letter about the S5/6 Parents’ Evening on Thursday 7th December.  Parents are now able to go online and book the teacher appointments.  A copy of the letter is attached below if required.

Keep Kelso / KHS Tidy!

Pupils are reminded to respect both their school and their community and ensure that they use rubbish bins provided around school and the town to dispose of any litter.  If anyone has any suggestions on how we can promote this to stop littering please contact KHS at [email protected].

Evening Lets booking form

A copy of the booking form for evening lets at KHS has been put into the ‘School Bag’ at the right hand side of this page.  Please complete and hand into the School Office as required.

Impact Biometrics – Consent Form

The new facilities for catering and dining will be one of the biggest improvements to the pupil experience and our school catering team have been hard at work coming up with new menus and a new approach for the new setting.

We are very pleased that we will be the very first school in Scottish Borders which will be able to take advantage of the latest technology in biometrics to ensure that meals and snacks are paid for as quickly and efficiently as possible.  Please see the documents attached below for more info.  Please note completed consent forms are now OVERDUE.  If your youngster has not yet returned this please arrange for them to do so ASAP.  Copies of the consent slip can be collected from the school office.

Outdoor Court

The outdoor court will be opened at lunchtime for the following year groups to use:

Monday - S1

Tuesday - S2

Wednesday - S3

Thursday - Seniors

See Mr Brown in PE Dept for further details.

Extra-Curricular Sports Clubs - Christmas Foodbank Initiative

From Monday 4th December to Friday 8th December, we are looking for all participants who attend Extra-Curricular Sports clubs and coaching to show support for the Kelso Foodbank in the run up to Christmas.  All we ask is that you bring along one (or more if you wish!) of the following items to donate to the Foodbank:

Cereals, pasta, rice, biscuits, tea, coffee, jam, marmalade, pasta sauce.  Tinned food including, soup, baked beans, spaghetti, macaroni, fish, meat, tomatoes, potatoes, other vegetables, fruit and puddings.

Items can be deposited in the PE Department prior to your Extra-Curricular Club starting.

We hope as many of our School Sporting Community can support this initiative to provide as many people in our local area some basics this Christmas.  Donations from other pupils and staff also gratefully received.  See Mr Brown in PE Dept for further details.

National Brass Band Championships

Five KHS pupils took part in the National Brass Band Champions at Perth Concert Hall last weekend.  They retained their first place position in the Senior section.  Now they have to decide whether or not to enter the European Championships in Utrecht next May.  Congratulations and well done to Jamie and Daniel Ball, Rachel Wemyss, Ben Swaffield and Ben Murray.  Pictures below.
