The Computing Department has one full-time member of staff, Dr Guy Warner, and Mr Paul Graham who teaches Computing and Mathematics. Accommodation comprises two rooms each equipped with 20 computers and a digital projector. We have a number of cameras and Android smartphones for use by students and there is a small networking lab available for senior students.
The role of the department is to provide resources and training in Information Communications Technology for every member of the school community, and to offer a wide variety of courses for those who want to specialise in the study of Software Design, Computer Systems and Information Science and their effects on society
As well as the practical skills needed to be able to use modern Information Communications Technology, we encourage the development of Problem Solving and Analysis, to enable students to have a creative role in a modern technological society.
Our course in years 1 to 3 covers Internet safety, programming, animation, computer systems, web design and digital image editing. We also opffer options in game design and video editing.
Our senior courses cover Software Development, Computer Systems, Artificial Intelligence and Networking.
We encourage collaborative work, sharing ideas and above all the joy of successful problem solving at all levels.
